Beta-2 Microglobulin

Special Precautions/Comments:

Additional Information:

Beta-2 microglobulin is a small glycoprotein found on the cell surface of lymphocytes and is therefore used as a marker of lymphocyte turnover. It is used in the prognosis and monitoring of haematological malignancies such as myeloma and lymphoma. Other causes of an elevated beta-2 microglobulin include renal disease, HIV, and following organ transplantation.
