CA125

Special Precautions/Comments:

Additional Information:

CA125 is a tumour marker associated with ovarian tumours of epithelial origin. CA125 is primarily used in the investigation of ovarian cancer and monitoring treatment and recurrence. It can also be useful in distinguishing benign from malignant pelvic masses.

CA125 can also be raised in other malignancies, such as endometrial cancer, or in benign conditions such as endometriosis, cirrhosis, acute pancreatitis and pregnancy. It should therefore be interpreted with caution in the clinical context and should not be used for screening in the general population.
