Creatine Kinase (CK)

Special Precautions/Comments:

Additional Information:

Creatine kinase (CK) is an intracellular enzyme found in muscle cells and can therefore be used as marker of muscle cell damage. CK is mainly used in the investigation of muscle pain, rhabdomyolysis and muscular dystrophies. A raised CK can also be seen in trauma, statins, intense exercise, hypothyroidism, and hypokalaemia.
