Haemoglobinopathy Screen – Antenatal Partner Screening

This test has genetic implications, please ensure informed patient consent has been taken.

Additional Information:

 To test the haemoglobinopathy status of the biological father, if an expectant mother has had a positive haemoglobinopathy on their antenatal screening bloods.

Tests are performed to determine future implications for the infant. Timely receipt of these samples is vital to ensure  prenatal testing/counselling may be offered to the family of any potentially affected infant.
